Burnaby auto body shop wins green award
The environmental initiatives taken by Mark’s Auto Body in Burnaby have been recognized by the collision repair industry’s 2011 FIT Sustainability Award.
Mark’s is one of three winners; the others are in Gorham, Maine and Highland, Michigan.
The award was created by AkzoNobel Automotive & Aerospace Coatings America to promote unique contributions by the collision repair industry to a sustainable future.
Mark’s Auto Body, which also has a shop in Port Coquitlam, has been an advocate for more environmental practices like using water-based paints, recycling solvents and making hybrid cars available as loaners to customers.
The award will be presented in July at an event in Salt Lake City, Utah.
