Two Burnaby cos. get federal clean tech funds
Two Burnaby companies are among six in the Lower Mainland to receive federal funding for clean technology projects.
Diacarbon Energy Inc. is receiving $1 million for a bio-coal production facility while NuWave Research Inc. is getting $2 million for a commercial crop-drying technology project.
The projects are among 23 nationwide to receive a total $61.8 million from Sustainable Development Technology Canada's SD Tech Fund, which assists in the commercialization of clean technology in numerous sectors including agriculture, transportation, mining and energy.
Over the past 10 years, the fund has supported more than 245 projects with $592 million in funding.
