Nikkei Fall Harvest Fair takes place Saturday
The Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre presents its second annual Nikkei Fall Harvest Fair at Nikkei Centre, Nikkei Centre, 6688 Southoaks Crescent, Burnaby, on Saturday, Oct. 13.
The event includes a Japanese farmers' market, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., featuring hard-to-find Japanese produce including kabocha, kabu, kyuri, nasu, daikon, napa, and others, along with prepared Japanese foods, such as baking, umeboshi (pickled plums), tsukemono (pickled vegetables), and manju (sweet bean paste bun).
An open house at Nikkei Centre will run 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. showcasing programs and demonstrations including martial arts, tea ceremony, healing arts, sushi class, entertainment, kids activities and more.
