BCIT students approve U-Pass program

The BCIT Student Association has voted in favour of the U-Pass BC Transit Program.

Voter turnout for the 10-day referendum this month was 41 per cent of eligible students. Of those, 85 per cent voted in favour of the U-Pass program, which will see students receive systemwide transit passes for $30 a month, a significant discount. Participation in the program would be mandatory.

The program will start as early as May.
