Witnesses to serious accident in Burnaby sought

Burnaby RCMP are seeking witnesses to a serious motor vehicle incident that sent a pedestrian to hospital on Friday, March 18.

The accident occurred at around 8 p.m. at the intersection of Lougheed Highway and Government Road/Austin Avenue.

Police believe there are likely witnesses who saw a vehicle hit a pedestrian due to the amount of vehicle and foot traffic at the intersection, located beside Lougheed SkyTrain station.

The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. As of Tuesday, the pedestrian was still in hospital in critical condition.

Any witnesses to the accident are asked to call Burnaby RCMP Corp. Dave Chu or Corp. Glen Porter at 604-294-7922.
