RCMPcrest.jpg

Burnaby RCMP are investigating after a woman was assaulted after leaving the Lougheed SkyTrain station early Wednesday morning.

The woman was walking through a dimly lit secluded area at about 1 a.m. when she heard rustling in the bushes, say Burnaby RCMP. A young male suspect jumped out at her, throwing her to the ground and attempting to sexually assault her.

The victim screamed and managed to get away from the suspect's grip and flee the scene. She was unharmed in the attack.

The suspect is described as a young, dark-skinned male, about five-feet-five inches tall with a thin build. He was wearing a baseball cap, black hoodie and grey pants.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Burnaby RCMP at 604-294-7922.
