Burnaby soprano ties for music competition win
Burnaby soprano Kirsten MacKinnon is one of two winners of the grand prize in the 19-to-30-year-olds category of the Canadian Music Competition.
MacKinnon tied for the prize with pianist Jason Lee of Mississauga, Ont. Both winners will each receive a $2,000 scholarship.
The final round of the competition saw 218 young musicians from seven provinces vie for prizes in Montreal.
