Corrigan honoured with UBCM long-service award
Burnaby Mayor Derek Corrigan was honoured with the Union of B.C. Municipalities Long-Service Award at its recent conference in recognition of his 25 years of service in local government office.
Corrigan was first elected to Burnaby council in 1987, serving for 15 years before being first elected mayor in 2002.
He joins two late former Burnaby mayors in receiving the award, Doug Drummond and Alan Emmott.
