Burnaby Teachers Association launches blog, pledges to allow visible comments
The Burnaby Teachers Association has launched a new blog this week, titled simply “The BTA Blog.”
“Currently, as far as we know, it may be the only blog by a Canadian labour organization that allows for publicly visible comments,” said Patrick Parkes of the BTA in a press release.
The BTA intends to update the blog weekly with articles from BTA newsletters and other publications, and is intended, according to Parkes, “as a way for teachers to communicate among themselves and to the general public, and as a resource for news media.”
Although the site’s content will be visible to anyone, only BTA members will have access to post comments.
The site can be viewed at: http://thebtablog.wordpress.com.
