Burnaby teenager faces robbery charges

Two teenage boys are facing several charges following a robbery in Ron McLean Park near the Edmonds SkyTrain station late Wednesday evening.

The boys threatened a couple around 10 p.m. with a knife, robbing them of personal belongings including cellphones, cash, jewelry and gift cards.

The victims immediately called police and RCMP officers and dogs managed to catch the suspects as they fled and recover all the property.

RCMP say a 15-year-old Burnaby boy is facing two charges of armed robbery an another of disguising his face with the intent to commit an offence. A 16-year-old from New Westminster is looking at the same charges as well as carrying a prohibited weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
