Burnaby Teachers Association hosts seminar for parents
The Burnaby Teachers' Association (BTA) is hosting a seminar for all Burnaby parents on Wednesday, May 23, 7 p.m. at the BTA office, 115-3993 Henning Dr. (across from Home Depot), Burnaby.
The event, presented by the Parents and Teachers Together (PATT) committee of the BTA, is meant as a thank you for the support and understanding teachers have received during their labour dispute with the provincial government.
Guest speaker will be Kathy Bartolone, parent presentation facilitator with the B.C. Teachers' Federation. Handouts will include topics such as questions to ask your child's teacher, tips on improving study skills at home and encouraging children to read, math support, and homework help available online.
Parents attending are asked to RSVP to bta4@telus.net so organizers can ensure there is adequate seating available.
