Burnaby RCMP arrest two youths for robberies
Burnaby RCMP arrested two youths Tuesday in connection with two recent robberies and a theft.
One was arrested for allegedly stealing a cellphone and threatening the victim with bear spray after the victim was able to identify the suspect.
The second youth was arrested after an attempted robbery at a SkyTrain station. Police eventually determined the suspect was also responsible for another theft, from a jewelry store in late May, say Burnaby RCMP.
Police also spoke to a third youth in connection with thefts from two vehicles in South Burnaby but it did not result in an arrest.
"Property from the vehicles was located near the suspect; however, there was insufficient evidence to lay a criminal charge," said Burnaby RCMP Corp. Rick Skolrood in a press release.
The two youths face charges of personal robbery and theft. Neither can be named due to their ages.
