A garage being renovated at 8002 13th Ave. in South Burnaby caught fire early Wednesday morning.

The homeowner called Burnaby firefighters at 2:55 a.m. after noticing the fire, said Roy Foster, Burnaby fire department's acting assistant chief of fire prevention.

Firefighters managed to confine the blaze to the attached garage.

The incident has been deemed "not suspicious," he said.

Fire investigators were still on scene on Wednesday afternoon.
