Man arrested after Burnaby man stabbed
A 20-year-old Surrey man has been charged after a Burnaby man was stabbed in Vancouver early Saturday morning, say Vancouver Police.
At about 1 a.m. Aug. 25, police responded to reports of a man being stabbed after a verbal altercation between two men escalated into a physical fight outside the Anza Club at West 8th Avenue and Ontario Street.
Police found the suspect in the 100-block of East Broadway and arrested him without incident. The victim, a 32-year-old Burnaby man, was taken to hospital with a stab wound to the stomach. He is expected to make a full recovery.
Gbassay Magona-Kallon, 20, of Surrey is charged with assault with a weapon and aggravated assault. He is not previously known to police and was released from custody on a recognizance. His next court appearance is on Sept. 4 at 11:30 a.m.
