One killed in crash at Lougheed and Willingdon
One person is dead after the SUV he was driving struck a two-ton truck Monday afternoon at Lougheed Highway and Willingdon Avenue, say Burnaby RCMP.
Both vehicles were eastbound on Lougheed when the crash occurred, just east of Willingdon.
The truck was in the right lane and was turning into the Esso gas station at the southeast corner of Lougheed and Willingdon when the SUV, which was in the bicycle lane, hit the side of the truck.
The male driver of the SUV was killed while a dog in his vehicle was unhurt and was turned over to care of the SPCA.
Burnaby RCMP is still investigating the cause of the collision with the assistance of the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service.
