UPDATE: Calgary man killed in Burnaby industrial accident
The B.C. Coroners Service has released the name of the man who died in a construction accident in North Burnaby on Oct. 11.
Jeffrey Caron, 28, of Calgary was working in a trench below ground when a retaining wall collapsed at about 11 a.m., trapping himself and another worker.
They were taken to Vancouver General Hospital but Caron succumbed to his injuries.
The death continues to be investigated by the Coroners Service and WorkSafeBC.
"The family of Mr. Caron has been notified of his death," said a press release. "On behalf of family members, the Coroners Service asks that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time."
The workers were employed by J. Cote and Son Excavating Ltd. The Surrey-based company did not return a message asking for comment.
