Anti-pipeline tour stops in Burnaby Oct. 25
No Pipelines, No Tankers, a speaking tour by the Council of Canadians opposing proposed pipeline projects, comes to Burnaby on Thursday, Oct. 25.
The event starts at 6:30 p.m. at Alpha secondary school, 4600 Parker St., and features speakers Maude Barlow, Bill McKibben (350.org) and Rueben George (Sundance Chief, Tseil-Waututh First Nation).
The tour is taking place in communities along the planned routes of three controversial proposed pipelines–Enbridge Northern Gateway, Kinder Morgan Trans Mountain, and the Pacific Trails Pipeline–which all aim to transport fossil fuels through B.C. to the west coast.
