Burnaby man killed in construction site accident

A Burnaby man was killed at a construction site accident in West Vancouver Thursday afternoon, say West Vancouver Police.

Emergency responders were called to the 3300-block of Cypress Bowl Road shortly before 3 p.m. on March 20.

A worker had been repairing excavation equipment when the machinery shifted, trapping him underneath. He was unresponsive when he was discovered and could not be resuscitated, police said.

The victim was a 56-year-old Burnaby resident. His family has been notified and his identity is not being released.

WorkSafeBC is investigating.
