Motorcyclist breaks bones in crash with pick up truck

A motorcyclist is recovering from serious injuries after he collided with a pickup truck on Royal Oak Avenue Wednesday morning.

The male motorcyclist was transported to hospital with fractured bones. His injuries aren't life threatening.

RCMP said the motorcyclist was traveling northbound on Royal Oak when a southbound pickup turned into his path at Portland Street. The driver of the pickup remained at the scene and was issued a violation under the motor vehicle act.

Royal Oak was closed while police investigated the accident.
