Clan soccer men perfect
The SFU Clan men's soccer team has their season off on the right foot. The Clan beat the Grand Canyon University Antelopes 1-0 on Saturday in Lacey, WA. to remain undefeated in three starts.
Carlo Basso's second goal of the season, off a penalty kick in the tenth minute, was all the Clan needed to beat the Antelopes, who were ranked ninth nationally heading into the match.
"It was good to see us win it and continue this winning streak," said SFU head coach Alan Koch in a release. "This was a very good game between two top NCAA soccer teams."
The Clan were outshot 13-11 but the back end of Carson Gill, Matt Besuschko, Anthony DiNicolo and Marco Voegeli were resolute to preserve the win.
SFU tries to extend its streak of perfection to four games when they host Trinity Lutheran Wednesday at Terry Fox Field.
