Kevin Li of Burnaby fired a final round 73 to finish in a tie for 23rd at the B.C. junior boys golf championship held last week at the Sunshine Coast Golf and Country Club in Roberts Creek.
The fourth-round score was the best of the tournament for Li who had rounds of 77-76-75 to begin the tournament before ending up with a 13-over 301. Another Burnaby boy, Lucas Gatto, finished a stroke behind Li in a tie for 25th shooting 72-72-83-75=302.
After two rounds, Gatto was sitting in fifth place, a shot behind Burnaby’s Alan Toluso (74-69). However, both ballooned to 83 in the third round after which Toluso withdrew.
