The Cotswold Olimpicks are alternative in almost every way, even down to its spelling of 'Olympics'.

Held every year in Chipping Camden, England, it's mostly a gauntlet of harmless, fun events like sack racing and other stuff involving wheelbarrows. Except, of course, for the 'Shin-Kicking' World Championships.

And wouldn't you know, this year's event was won by Vancouverite Ross Langill, who downed 24-year-old stonemason Zak Warren in the final.

"Tiring, very tiring," said Langill, who's also 24 and was clad in a white lab-coat and his Vancouver Canucks jersey, the #33 of captain Henrik Sedin. "That was hard. The hay really protects the shins, but it's really the feet that takes all the brunt. Trainers, it hurt."
