Brief History:
Previously known as the Burnaby Arts Centre, the Shadbolt Centre for the Arts is a multi-purpose community arts centre facility.
The Centre is named after the Shadbolt family: Doris Shadbolt was a curator and writer, while Jack Shadbolt was a famous Canadian painter and author.
Opened in 1995, the building hosts two theatres, dance studios, pottery studios, music rehearsal rooms, conference rooms, a cafe, and more. Festivals, concerts, arts programs and special events take place year-round at the Centre.
